Minoes (pronounced as mĭnū·s with emphasis on the second syllable: she was very picky about that) was my furry four-pawed friend for 15 years. Today she died. I'm sad.

I'll miss how she spilled puddles of water all over the floor because her water bowl was never at the right spot. I'll miss how she woke me up in the morning by jumping on my gut. I'll miss how she courageously went about life and overcame her fears.

I'll miss her.

Band Back to Basic

Back to Basic is a band originally from Rotterdam, The Netherlands, who play groovy soulful rock-inspired music. They've been around since 1993, which is also when I first saw them play. The last time I saw them play was in 2008 at their fifteenth anniversary reunion, also in Rotterdam. Since then, it has been quiet around the band. Too quiet. Yesterday I sort of stumbled over them at a local festival in their original home town. And again, sparks were splashing. The band were obviously having fun and the music was still top notch. It's here, it's great and it's Not Over Yet!

A funky organ, a funky brass section, a steaming rhythm section, easily the best guitar player this part of the western hemisphere (okay, not counting Jan Akkerman) and the most soulful smokey singer you have ever heard. All of that and gorgeously crafted songs, a lot of soul and passion. That's the new album Not Over Yet by fusion veterans Back to Basic. It was released yesterday, June 25th. For me this is no doubt the best album Back to Basic has ever released. And that's saying a lot. I suggest you install Equalizer APO , plug in your earphones and have a listen: The album is available on many music platforms, including YouTube (see above) and Spotify and can be purchased via Amazon , among others.
